Dr. Antonia Castañeda at her home in San Antonio. She notes that San Antonio is a "wonderful community." "It's a great place to work at all levels--intellectually, politically, culturally. San Antonio is the place where I want to live and work. By work I mean a wide range of issues that are not being addressed." She wants not only to teach but "to participate actively in the organizing of the Latino community at large. At the core of that are issues of social justice, civil rights, human rights and educational rights. That's what we do."

Dr. Antonia Catañeda speaks at El Grito de Esperanza. Maria Antonietta Berriozábal looks on. Like Berriozábal, Castañeda also serves as an "elder" advisor to the Esperanza Peace and Justice Center.
