Academic Outreach

Mission: Make faculty aware of the Learning Resources Center resources available to them in their offices or off campus.


Access Services

(Includes Circulation, Interlibrary Loan, Reserve Materials)

Mission: Help the user access the collection through a catalogue that is intuitive and easy to use, comprehensive, up-to-date, and can be used by many users simultaneously. Have the book or other resource on the shelf or otherwise available when the user needs it. Provide open library hours consistent with user needs and demand patterns. Provide good access for persons with disabilities. Provide quick access to materials which are not in our collection.


Audio-Visual Services

(Includes Instructional Media, Support)

Mission: Serve the instructional media equipment and production needs of Palo Alto College.


Children's Library

Mission: Provide library materials, services, and instructional programs for children through the age of 12.


Collection Management

(Includes Collection Development, Technical Services)

Mission: Facilitate the purchasing, processing and access of library materials.


Electronic Resources and Services

(Includes the Information Concourse)

Mission: Provide electronic resources based on user needs and collection development goals. Provide electronic services to assist users in accessing electronic resources and in achieving their educational goals.


Library Instruction

Mission: Educate people about the need for information literacy skills and teach those skills at every opportunity and in every venue possible.


Library Outreach

Mission: Promote library services on and off campus through collaborative efforts. Help organize information to use in demonstrations, lectures, workshops, special projects, etc.


Planning & Evaluation

Mission: Facilitate the effectiveness and efficiency of the Learning Resources Center through planning and evaluation of all programs and services.


Reference

Mission: Provide excellent teaching of information sources and research strategies at point of need to students and the PAC community.


Website

Mission: Provide access to LRC information, programs, services, and resources in a simple, intuitive form which is accessible by as many users as possible.
