The Purpose of the Evaluation, Why and For Whom:

1. Improve the LRC Web site and its services.
2. Defend the program and its funding.
3. Respond to accrediting agencies.
4. Provide data and information for decision-making.

Evaluation will address administrators, the teaching faculty, students, librarians, other libraries, SACS, and THECB.


Goals and Objectives of the Department:

1. Assist faculty and students in the learning and research process.
a. Facilitate searching the Web.
b. Facilitate research, particularly in curriculum areas.
c. Help faculty in teaching.
d. Help faculty facilitate student assignments and projects.
2. Present critical data and information about the LRC.
3. Facilitate excitement about reading and learning.
4. Serve as a locus for scholarly communication and the improvement of the college's intellectual climate.
5. Meet Priority 1 (WWW3) level ADA compliance standards for website accessibility.


Criteria To Be Used / Questions To Be Asked For Evaluation:

1. Is the Web site being used?
2. Does the Web site help faculty do their job?
3. Does the Web site help students with their studies and research?


Research Design To Be Used:

1. Is the Web site being used?
a. Number of hits per week compared to enrollment.
b. Faculty survey.
c. Student survey.
2. Does the Web site help faculty do their job?
a. Faculty survey.
3. Does the Web site help students with their studies and research?
a. Student survey.
