Steps to Register -- Students First Time Only
1. Print this page and follow the instructions number by number. Checking them off as you do them will help you keep track of where you are.
2. Click on "Link to Registration Page"... Maximize page size by clicking on the middle of the three icons in the top right corner of the window.
2a. Click on the "Alamo Community Colleges" link.
3. Look below the big "Log In" box on the left and locate the smaller box labelled "View Course List." Click on it.
4. Click on "PAC" link, not Palo Alto College.
5. Click on "Library" link.
6. Click on "Uncategorized" link.
7. To the left of the word "Research" click on the green triangle (far left).
8. On the "IR Certificate Program" line, go to the far right and click on the green plus sign.
9. You are now at the registration site.
10. Your PALS ID is your "User Name"
11. Your password is the first two letters of your last name, capitalized, and the last 6 digits of your social security number. Hit Enter.
12. You may have a pop-up. Answer NO, you do not want Microsoft to remember your password.
13. You should now be on a page with a message at the top saying "You have been registered." Click on the right box "Go to My Blackboard"
14. You may encounter another pop-up. Answer RUN.
15. Click on the link "Research - IR Certificate Program.
16. You should now be on the Course Content yellow page. You may encounter a pop-up welcoming you to the program. Read and then close it.
17. Click on "Read First" in the yellow area. Then follow the numbers of the modules. Remember you need to get a 70 or better to pass each quiz. There are seven quizzes.
18. FINDING YOUR GRADES: Look to the far left of your screen. Note that you are currently in "Course Content." (If you cannot see the menu, click on the Triangle and Bar symbol on the left and the menu will open.) To find your grades, go down to MY TOOLS on the far left. The first link is "My Grades".
19. To continue working, click back on the top link at the far left "Course Content."
20. When you try to return to work on this program, you will receive a message that you are already registered. The following explains how to get in after the first time:

Steps to Register -- Faculty
1. Link to Registration Page (You are being opened in a new Web page so that you can sign in and read the instructions at the same time. To move between the two pages, hold down Alt and hit the Tab key).
1a. Click on the link "Alamo Community Colleges."
2. You are now on the registration page. Use the large "Log In" box at the top left.
Your "User Name" is your PALS ID

3. Click on link "Research - IR Certificate Program.
4. Use the "Teach" tab to check on your students' progress.
