Information Research Certificate I (IRC I)


The IRC program is for incoming freshmen and anyone who is not familiar with information research. It consists of the following seven classes:

  1. Introduction to Information Research (class #1--developed and often taught by Sandra Hood or Colby Glass)

  2. Online Catalog and E-books (class #2--developed and often taught by Sandra Hood)

  3. Electronic Databases Research (class #3--developed and often taught by Camille Fiorillo)

  4. Internet Research (class #4--developed and often taught by Irene Scharf)

  5. Evaluating Information (class #5--developed and often taught by Colby Glass)

  6. Documenting Research Papers--MLA (class #6--developed and often taught by Ann Bolton-Brownlee)

  7. Documenting Research Papers--APA (class #7--revised and often taught by Gloria E. Hilario)

All classes are free and taught in OZU 200. Classes are one hour long. Students completing the seven classes--in any order--will receive an Information Research Certificate and continuing education credit on their transcript.
