Mentorship Program

 

Palo Alto College offers its students, The Honors Mentorship Program, a unique format in which to learn, develop and work with your community. Palo Alto College students work one-on-one with second graders at local elementary schools or at a local middle school.

Under these Honors courses, IDST 2370 & IDST 2371, students earn college credit while interacting directly with the development of education in our area.

 

 

Program Requirements:

 

Ř      3.00 GPA

Ř      desire to work with young people

Ř      willing to represent PAC in the community

 

 

Course Requirements

Ř      apply and be admitted to the program

Ř      enroll in the Honors course

Ř      produce papers and a portfolio

Ř      typed or handwritten journal to be turned in at assigned times

Ř      maintain satisfactory attendance

  • A completed Palo Alto College Mentorship Program Application (this form)
  • Recommendation from one Palo Alto College teacher, counselor, or other person knowledgeable of your abilities
  • Completed essay (On next page)
  • You must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 at Palo Alto College (the Mentorship Committee will verify)
