The Mentee

 

 

THE ROLE OF THE MENTEE  

  • The mentee is a student who is serious about their academic career.
  • The mentee is someone is willing to listen to advice or suggestions of someone who is knowledgeable.
  • The mentee is someone who will seek advice from their mentor if they are in need of help.

 

MENTEE ATTRIBUTES  

  • A strong desire to want to receive guidance.
  • The ability to keep a professional relationship with their mentor.
  • A willingness to invest time in meeting with their mentor.
  • A commitment to be involved.

 

 WHAT DOES A MENTEE DO?

  • Discusses goals, success and problems with mentor.
  • Seeks solutions to social and academic problems from their mentor.
  • Works willing with their mentor to set academic and personal goals.

 

MENTEE BENEFITS:

  • To learn more about their academic goals and themselves.
  • To build self-esteem.
  • To enhance interpersonal skills.
  • To help enhance self-motivation and goal setting.
  • To learn more about the field of education.
  • To learn more about transferring to a University.
  • To familiarize self with the expectations of a University.
  • To receive guidance in academic decision making.
  • To enhance overall learning and career aspirations.
