I. CATALOG DESCRIPTION
Career-related activities encountered in the student's area of specialization are offered through a cooperative agreement between the college, the employer, and student. Under supervision of the college and the employer, the student combines classroom learning with work experience. Directly related to a technical discipline, specific learning objectives guide the student through the paid work experience. This course may be repeated if topics and learning outcomes vary.

ACNT 1303 and 10 hours or more toward a certificate with approval of worksite by instructor/coordinator.

V. COURSE CONTENT
The primary purpose of this course is to provide students with actual on-the-job work experience. Students will be required to work 20 hours per week for fifteen weeks at an approved student training station. The student will also meet in a classroom lecture/group discussion setting for one 50-minute period per week in order to discuss various job-related topics. After two missed discussion seminars, the student will be dropped from the cooperative education class and the worksite supervisor will be notified.
VI. LEARNING OUTCOMES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
- Demonstrate good work quality and habits as deemed satisfactory by the instructor by:
1. Showing punctuality and good attendance at the course seminars
2. Completing assignments correctly and on time
3. Lead and/or participate in discussions on office or on other job-related topics
4. Lead class discussions on weekly article and textbook assignments
Evaluation: Attain an 88% attendance score; score 88% on assigned tasks based on quality and timeliness; and successfully answer 70% of the questions on final exam.
- Demonstrate good work habits and performance as deemed satisfactory to work supervisor by:
1. Showing punctuality and good attendance at the place of training
2. Produce accurate results for on-the-job projects in the time allotted
3. Demonstrate the ability to work well with others at work site
4. Prioritize work in an appropriate manner
5. Demonstrate satisfactory initiative, effort, and attitude
Evaluation: Successfully score 70% or higher on work supervisor's evaluation based on the above learning outcomes.

VII. COURSE GRADE
A. College Requirements:
A written, comprehensive final examination, not to exceed two and one-half hours in length, shall be given at the end of each semester for each course at the regularly scheduled time. Any exceptions to these requirements must be approved by the appropriate dean. Other examinations are given at the discretion of the instructor.
A student who must be absent from a final examination should petition that instructor for permission to postpone the examination. A student absent without permission from a final examination is graded “F.” Postponed examinations result in a grade of “I.” The final exam must be taken within 120 calendar days from the end of the semester or the grade automatically becomes an “F.” (San Antonio College Bulletin, Faculty Handbook - January 1995)

A. College Policies

- San Antonio College Attendance Policy: Regular and punctual attendance at all classes and laboratories, day and/or evening, is required. A student absent for any reason is responsible for all work missed. Both tardiness and early departure from class are forms of absenteeism. The instructor establishes the policy with regard to each.
Absences of each student are recorded without exception. The counting of absences begins on the first day of class. A student absent the equivalent of two weeks of instruction in a 16-week semester may be dropped by the instructor. If a student is dropped from a class for excessive absences, the instructor will record a grade of “W' (withdraw). It is the student's responsibility to ensure that the withdrawals have been submitted.
