COURSE CONTENT
POFI 1301 is a computer intensive course in which students are expected to learn skills using the microcomputer to create documents, workbooks, databases, presentations, and calendars suitable for course work, professional purposes, and personal use.
COMPETENCIES
At the completion of POFI 1301, the student will be able to:
1. Word-Use a word processing program to create documents such as memos, letters, reports, research papers, brochures, announcements, newsletters, envelopes, and labels.

Excel-Use Excel to set up financial, statistical, or other types of information in columns and rows and then track, analyze, and chart the data. Use Excel to create formulas to perform mathematical computations and manipulate values to answer questions or create different scenarios. Excel provides a wide variety of editing and formatting features as well as visual elements to improve the presentation of the data.

Access-Use Access as a database management system to design, create, input, maintain, manipulate, sort, and print data.

PowerPoint-Use PowerPoint to organize and present information and create visual aids for a presentation. The program provides a wide variety of editing and formatting features as well as visual elements such as clip art, WordArt, and drawn objects.
ACADEMIC DISHONOSTY POLICY
Students may be subject to disciplinary proceedings resulting in an academic penalty or disciplinary penalty for academic dishonesty. Academic dishonesty includes, but is not limited to, cheating on a test, plagiarism and collusion. ATTENDANCE POLICY
Students should be aware that NOT TURNING IN HOMEWORK FOR TWO CONSECUTIVE WEEKS is considered two absences and the student is subject to being dropped from the course.
