Advanced Word Processing is a continuation of the study
of word processing including advanced applications in merging, macros,
graphics, desktop publishing, and extensive formatting for technical
document. This textbook provides students with the opportunity to learn
advanced word processing techniques for employment purposes or home
use and to utilize a microcomputer as a word processor.
II. Prerequisites:
POFI 2301 and a keyboarding skill of at least 35 wpm

IV. Course grade determination
Average of all graded assignments 30%
Includes work completed in classroom and outside classroom
as listed on the assignment sheet. All assignments must be completed
in order to satisfactorily complete the requirements of the course.
Average of all unit performance and theory assessments
50%
Performance tests are timed measures of ability to prepare
usable copy at the microcomputer. Inputting, formatting, proofreading
and editing, and preparing usable copy of documents within a limited
time are the goals.
There are two theory tests based on material read in the
chapters. These tests are multiple choice.
Grades are based upon the following scales:
A=90 to 100; B=80 to 89; C=70 to 79; D=60 to 69; and F=59 percent or
lower.
V. Evaluation
A minimum of two major examinations will be given.
Major examinations are given to test acquired knowledge of textbook content, and learning experiences.
Students must complete all major examinations required in the course. A zero percent score will be recorded for any major examination not completed by a student.
The student will be penalize 10 points for not taking an exam at the scheduled time. Any examination which is not taken at the scheduled time must be completed within a reasonable period of time as determined by the instructor.
Late work, regardless of the reason, will be penalized 20 points.
The final examination must be completed to pass the course. The final examination is comprehensive.

VII. ATTENDANCE POLICY
Students should be aware that NOT TURNING IN HOMEWORK FOR TWO CONSECUTIVE WEEKS is considered two absences and the student is subject to being dropped from the course.
VIII. ACADEMIC DISHONESTY POLICY
Students may be subject to disciplinary proceedings resulting
in an academic penalty or disciplinary penalty for academic dishonesty.
Academic Dishonesty includes, but is not limited to, cheating
on a test, plagiarism, and collusion. For additional information
