Topics include the creating a Dreamweaver Web pages and local site, adding Web pages, links and images, and tables and pages layout. II. RECOMMENDED BACKGROUND PREREQUISITE: Ability to type by touch is recommended III. METHOD OF INSTRUCTION Assignments will be administered during the course from the learning activities packet (LAP) V. COURSE CONTENT This course is an introductory course that teaches Dreamweaver MX along with other applications or computer concepts. The course should include but not be limited to the following topics: Differentiating between Web pages and Web sites and types of Web pages, Identifying Web browser features An overview of planning, designing, developing, testing, publishing, and maintaining a Web site A discussion of HTML Various methods and tools used in Web site creations A brief description of the new features in Dreamweaver MX Creating a local site Creating a Web page and applying a color scheme and formatting properties to the Web page Inserting line breaks and special characters Inserting a horizontal rule and an absolute link Using the Check Spelling features Understanding and modifying image file formats Adding background and page images to a Web page Creating relative, absolute, and e-mail links Changing the color of links and editing and deleting links Modifying a table structure Understanding HTML table tags Adding content to a table and formatting the content Formatting the table and creating head content VII. COMPETENCIES Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: 1. Create a Web page 2. Add Web pages, links, and images 3. Tables and Page Layout Attendance Policy Monitored weekly via email. Students accumulating excessive absences (2) may be withdrawn from the course without further notification. Your weekly e-mails should keep pace with the schedule of Lab work described on the Assignments Due page, and is to include the labs you have completed in the current Projects. If you do not complete a project at the assigned time, you must still e-mail me on the day the Project is due for attendance purposes, otherwise you will be marked absent. You will also include Projects as attachments to the email sent weekly.
