EARLY ADMISSIONS

Early admissions applications are accepted each semester from students who have completed their high school junior year.  Applicants must qualify for college level courses.  San Antonio College is not permitted to remediate high school students.  Requirements are as followed:

  • Apply on the Web at ApplyTexas for admissions.
  • Letter of permission from parent addressing the applicant's maturity and ability to function well in a college environment.
  • Letter of recommendation from high school principal or counselors
  • Official high school transcript.
  • Agreement form for early admissions
  • ACT, SAT or Accuplacer test scores demonstrating college-level ability in the subject area(s) requested.
  • Counseling card with approved courses from a SAC counselor.
  • Take any departmental placement tests deemed advisable or necessary by counselor or department chairperson.

Submit letters, official transcript, agreement form, and a copy of counseling card, as a packet, to Admissions and Records Office (FAC 216).  If packet, testing, and admissions application is complete, acceptance is processed in three working days.

The number of courses a student may enroll in is determined by their high school course load and the recommendations of  a SAC counselor.  Class load must not exceed the equivalent of 16 semester hours.  Each high school course will be considered the equivalent of a three hour course.
