Beatrice Amaro - Advisory Board Member


Beatrice Amaro, or known as Bebe by the interpreting/deaf community, is certified by the BEI and has been interpreting professionally since 1997. She is currently pursuing the Advanced Certification through BEI and is working towards the NIC (National Interpreter Certification) and Tri –Lingual Certification. She is a graduate of SAC-ITP, and holds professional memberships in RID, TSID, and currently serves as vice president of the local chapter of SARID. She is employed as the interpreter coordinator at the University of Texas at San Antonio, while working additionally for San Antonio College Interpreting Services and for Vital Signs, Inc. She has had experience working in a tri-lingual environment as a parent liaison for the SKI-HI Program in New Mexico. This experience allowed Beatrice to work with families whose predominant language was Spanish that had children with hearing loss to assist in establishing communication goals.
