Michelle Theiss - Advisory Board Member

Michelle grew up an Air Force brat, but was lucky enough to land in San Antonio in 1985.  She graduated in 1992 from Judson High School in Converse, Texas.  Her intent upon entering college was to become a Kindergarten Teacher, but after taking a Sign Language Class at San Antonio College (SAC) fell in love with the language, changed majors, and the rest is history.  Michelle graduated from the ITP program at SAC in the Spring of 1997.  She then went on to acquire her Bachelors degree in Sign Language Studies in December 1998 from Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan.  She was also the first recipient of the Enhanced Certification in Interpreting at SAC in the Spring of 2008.  Currently she is a Texas BEI Advanced Certified Interpreter and is working towards national certification.  She works as a staff interpreter for Services by Vital Signs, Inc and Deaflink full-time.  She is also a video relay interpreter par t-time with Sorenson Communications.  In addition she runs her own Pampered Chef business.  Michelle's pride and joy is her daughter Hannah who will be 5 years old in September.  She loves spending time with her daughter.  They love to travel together and do so as often as possible.
