Patty has been in the field of Vocational Rehabilitation for 30 years.  She became interested in working with persons with disabilities as a summer camp counselor at the Texas Lions Camp during college.  She pursued a Master’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation with a specialty in Deafness at the University of Arizona.  She accepted her first job in San Jose, California as a Rehabilitation Counselor for the Deaf.  After 2 years, she moved back home to Texas and worked as a counselor at the Southwest Center for the Hearing Impaired (SCHI) for almost 10 years.  From there, Patty went to work with then legacy agency Texas Rehabilitation Commission and has served there as a Rehabilitation Counselor for the Deaf for 20 years.  Patty also hold a Texas Level  III Interpreting Certificate.
