Brian graduated from the Texas School for the Deaf in 1985.  He was involved with various organizations while in high school including:  Ski Club officer, National Association of the Deaf, Class President, Mr. TSD, Valedictorian, 2 yrs. w/ Drama Club, and Bible Study.

In 1990, he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Television, Film, and Photography from Gallaudet University.  While there, he was an active member of Kappa Sigma, a director of Student Welfare for the Student Body Government, Peer Advisor for Freshman students, as well as Associate to the Editor in Chief of Tower Clock Yearbook (2 yrs.).  In 1988, he was an active participant in the Deaf President Now movement.

Brian's work experience includes employment at the Texas School for the Deaf in Austin, as well as Methodist Family and Rehabilitation Services in San Antonio.  Brian has been a Deaf Support Specialist at San Antonio Independent Living Services (SAILS), Director of Communication Services for the Deaf in North Dakota, Lab Director of the Interpreter Training Program Resource Center at San Antonio College, as well as an adjunct faculty member of the Department of American Sign Language and Interpreter Training Program at San Antonio College before becoming a full-time faculty member.

Provide independent living case management for the deaf and hearing impaired consumers, and including working with SAILS’s service coordinators to achievement of individual consumers. Independent Living goals; provide outreach to the community and to the deaf community in advocacy and support of services and quality of life opportunities for deaf and hard of hearing persons. Americans with Disability Act training. Public Relations. Public Presentations. Instructed American Sign Language classes. Develop and closely network with other organization in the communities. Encourage employment opportunities/services in the community through providing education and awareness education to employers. Assist in providing sensitivity and awareness realization and training to community. Assist the Executive Director and Administration coordinator in reporting and developing grant proposals or reports to include statistical and other data.
