Nancy Slasor

Born in Pennsylvania, Nancy Slasor is third generation Deaf and has been a Deaf educationalist since 1972.  She attended Gallaudet University located in Washington, D.C. Gallaudet enjoys international reputation as being the world leader in liberal education and career development for deaf and hard of hearing undergraduate students. Having completed two years at Gallaudet Nancy moved to Knoxville, Tennessee. She attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and in 1972 earned her B.S. degree in Deaf Education.

In 1982, Nancy received a full scholarship from the National Leadership Training Program for the Deaf at California State University at Northridge. Through this program, she earned a Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration and Supervision. After having taught at the Indiana School for the Deaf and the San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD)-Regional Day School Program for the Deaf collectively for 35 years she retired in 2008.  In 1994, Nancy joined the San Antonio College American Sign Language/Interpreter Training Department as an adjunct faculty member teaching ASL.
