Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services
Notetakers
Notetakers
are available for your classes. If you need a notetaker
in your class, you will need to pick up a flyer and
carbon paper from the counseling office (NTC 004B).
On the
FIRST day of class, let the instructor know that you
need notetaking services and give the instructor the
flyer so they can make the announcement to the class.
If a student volunteers, give that student the notepad
of carbon paper. (Note: Students can also get paid
for notetaking services. If they would like to be
paid, refer the student to Delia DeLuna in disAbility
Support Services.)
It
is YOUR responsibility to check the notes on a daily
basis to make sure they are clear and understandable.
If you have any difficulties, you need to meet with
the notetaker or the instructor to answer any questions
you might have. It is also your responsibility to
pick up copies of your notes in the dSS office. If
notes are left for long period of time, they may be
discarded.
disAbility
Support Services also has copies of notes from different
classes offered at SAC. If you want to see notes from
your class, check with Delia DeLuna in DSS.
We will
do what we can to ensure a successful learning environment
for you!
