Mission Statements
The Business Department embraces five distinctive programs; Banking & Financial Services, Business Administration, Business Management, Public Administration, and Real Estate, which share similar missions: all seeking to provide a quality and affordable education which prepares diverse students for entry-level positions in the appropriate field and/or transfer to four-year colleges and universities.
Banking & Financial Services
To provide an educational experience of the highest quality at a reasonable cost, and
which satisfies the educational needs of a multicultural community. These courses are
designed to teach current and potential professionals the process and methodology of
the rapidly changing global financial services and mortgage banking industries.
Business Administration
The Business Administration mission is to provide an educational experience of the
highest quality to the students who enroll in courses within the Business Administration
discipline. In meeting student's needs we must do everything to ensure the delivery of
quality instruction in the course content to prepare student for the challenges of upper
division courses and the work force.
Business Management
To provide and educational experience of the highest quality at a reasonable cost which
satisfies the educational needs of a multicultural community. The Business
Management program will offer courses with emphasis in Business Management,
Financial Management, Human Resources Management, International Business, and
Marketing Management, so that graduates may be qualified for entry into the profit and
nonprofit sector and upgrade and/or integrate skill building experiences of the currently
employed student.
Public Administration
Offering courses that are current and relevant in the public sector. Theses courses will
prepare students to work in entry level positions at federal, state, local and non-profit
organizations and/or upgrade skills of employed students. The skills that are developed
will be writing, decision making, public speaking, and research in the public sector as
well as utilizing and international/intergovernmental perspective.
Real Estate
To fulfill the community’s demands for real estate education at a reasonable cost while
maintaining high quality. The diverse population served includes consumers seeking
information for personal needs as well as individuals seeking pre-licensing and
continuing education in the field.
