Brief Bio: My role at SAC has evolved through the years. Rising through the academic ranks from brand new instructor to Senior Professor in the Business Department, I have served for many years as Real Estate Program Coordinator. The last few years it has been my honor to Chair our Reaffirmation Committee for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and to become Director of out MLI (Murguia Learning Institute). Away from SAC I am deeply involved in real estate as an author with 4 different books in print plus many professional articles. I also serve as a consultant for numerous clients and have a farm and ranch brokerage business, along with my own real estate investments. I am a 4th generation rancher in Frio County south of San Antonio and raise registered Quarter Horses and practice some intense game management on my places. I live in Spring Branch with my wife Danell who went back to school a few years ago at 46 to get her Masters and is a Public School employee. Our children are 13 and 9. Teaching is a great way of life for me. Being a teacher makes me a better practitioner and being an active practitioner makes me a far better teacher. Balancing both worlds is sometimes a juggling act, but a fun one! From a teaching style perspective, I like to use stories (analogies) and small group discussions as well as lectures. I call frequently upon students in class for their opinions and understanding of the various real estate topic we discuss. My testing approach is to use short answer type questions. No True/False or Multiple Choice in my class! Since 1974, SAC has been a big part of my life and I truly enjoy working with the students who come here. I also teach for UTSA and have taught various classes including a course in the American College Student. Sales Coach: Avoid These 5 Listing Presentation Pitfalls
