About the Business Computer Lab

The Business Computer Lab is open to Business majors in Business Administration, Business Management, Finance and Financial Services, Public Administration and Real Estate. The lab is also available to students taking Business Department courses (click here to see list of courses) within the current semester.

Mission Statement:
The Business Computer Lab will provide students the technological tools for courses that have scheduled labs in conjunction with a regular scheduled class, for supplements to classroom instruction, and for support and opportunities to develop and enhance research skills.  The secondary mission is to provide a training facility for district and college employees.

The Business Computer Lab officially opened in the Fall 2002 semester and initially served 1,100 students. The lab had been in the planning stages for more than two years.

Since Fall 2002, the Business Computer Lab has served more than 60,000 students. It has assisted the college in various tasks, including District and College Employee Development Days and various training sessions for faculty and staff. The lab has also been used for Free-Tax Assistance Programs. Originally located in the Moody Learning Center, Room 706; the Business Computer Lab has grown into three lab classrooms, now all located in the Academic Instruction Center.

The main lab, located in room 307, serves over 10,000 students an academic year. The lab encompasses thirty-five (35) student workstations, two network printers and two scanners for student use. The Business Computer Lab does not charge for printing, but does ask you to limit printing to twenty (20) pages per day and to watch what you print. Please view our policies

Room 305 is used to host all BCIS (Business Computer Application) classes and for any other full-term course-work. This lab classroom accomodates 32 students.

Room 320 is mainly used for one-two day clasroom sessions and training for students, staff and faculty. This lab classroom accomodates 30 students.

Room 318 is the future home the Business Department Video Conferencing Room. The room is shared through the various department throughout the Alamo Colleges.

Sutie 320, is located in the middle of Room 307 and 320, the suite is accesible through both lab classrooms. The suite holds vital information and work for all three lab classrooms.
