CAREER ADVANCEMENT

Level I Certificates (15 hours) are offered through the Business Department at San Antonio College for the purpose of providing a specialized field of study for career entry, career development, and career advancement. The Business Department offers the following Level I Certificates:

Administrative Design Management
Finance & Financial Management Services
Budgeting in the Public Sector
Business Management
Financial Management
Financial Services Industry
Human Resource Management
International Business
Labor Studies
Leadership in the Public Sector
Marketing
Operations Management
Real Estate
Small Business Management
 
All courses listed in the Level I Certificate are required in the two-year degrees listed below. The Business Management Associate in Applied Science Degree, along with the options in Financial Management, Marketing Management, Human Resources Management, and International Business, provide for job or career entry, career development, industry/business start-up and development, transfer to four-year degree programs, and technical services to industry. All of the programs are linked with the employing community through an active advisory committee, cooperative or part-time work experience, as well as the sharing of work-sites and equipment. The AAS Degree will transfer to the following four-year universities:
Texas A&M – Kingsville (courses taught at Palo Alto College campus)
Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University)
The University of the Incarnate Word
St. Mary’s University
Wayland Baptist University
