San Antonio College EMS Academy

The San Antonio College EMS Academy offers a comprehensive variety of EMS and Healthcare Provider Courses for the individual seeking a career in the EMS professions - all levels of Emergency Medical Services training. We also offer this training on-site and will design our classes and training around your institution’s schedule and specific needs.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES

National Registry Practical Testing every other month
EMT-Basic through Paramedic
EMT-Basic through Paramedic Recertification Courses
EMT-Basic through Paramedic Remedial Courses
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
International Trauma Life Support (ITLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Pediatric Education for Pre-hospital Professionals (PEPP)
CPR for EMS Personnel

PREREQUISITES FOR THE EMS PROGRAM

18 years of age
High School Diploma or GED
CPR card within 1 year
Current immunizations
Hepatitis B vaccination
Negative TB test less than 1 year old
A current Background Check

NATIONAL REGISTRY

Testing for all EMT levels is available every other month. Candidates must register for National Registry testing four weeks prior to the desired test date. Application for candidate testing must be received before the close of business the day before the 4 week deadline. Site fee and registration are due 4 weeks before test date.

National Registry Refund Policy

There will be no refund of site fee for any reason, nor any transfer from one exam date to another. Once you have committed to an exam date, you either show up for the exam or forfeit your site fee. The site fee entitles the candidate to one test only; it does not guarantee that the student will be allowed to re-test. Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate same day re-tests but we cannot guarantee same day re-testing. For program information contact Wynn Gordy.
