General Education Skills CenterGED Preparatory ProgramThe SAC GED Program offers full preparation in English and Spanish both mornings and evenings. The classes run 30–60 clock hours. Areas of study are math, reading/writing, science, social studies, and language arts. For information about GED Testing call or visit: Assessment Center The GED Tests usually require some preparation on your part. To pass, you must perform as well as or better than 60 percent of high school seniors used to norm these tests. Adult Leisure Learning CenterThe San Antonio College Adult Leisure Learning Center (SAC ALLC) opens next Spring! Modeled after the very successful Academy for Learning In Retirement (ALIR) program run through the Northeast Independent School District, the SAC ALLC is built on a belief in lifelong learning. Like ALIR, the ALLC at SAC will utilize its members’ volunteerism to involve a variety of abilities and wealth of life experiences. SAC ALLC classes will be of interest to persons ages 50 and over, ranging from art and politics to mental and physical exercise, as well as workshops such as “How to Navigate Medicaid” and “Caring for Elderly Parents.” The $75 quarterly fee will let participants enroll in an unlimited number of classes, based on space availability. This Spring the SAC ALLC invites volunteers to help develop the program, teach, and recruit members. Beginning Turkish Culture & LanguageRaindrop Turkish House in collaboration with San Antonio College Continuing Education Training Network offers Beginning Level Turkish Culture & Language Class (GEN 1039).
