Continuing Nursing Education Center

The Continuing Nursing Education Center offers a variety of courses for the RN, LVN, nursing students, other healthcare providers, and social workers. For the RN seeking updates for relicensure or who want to increase their professional knowledge a Refresher Program is offered. Complementary and Alternative Modalities (CAM) or Healing Arts are available for individuals, nurses or caregivers.

Among the courses offered are:

  • Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (Nursing Students)
  • Understanding Pharmacology Mathematics
  • Monitor Tech Program (3 courses required)
  • - Introduction to Cardiac Rhythms
    - Intermediate Arrhythmia Recognition
    - Advance Arrhythmia Recognition
  • Certified Nursing Assistant Program (6 courses required)
  • - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)–Nursing
    - OSHA Tech–Nursing
    - Malpractice Low Risk
    - Nurse Aide–Skills & Written Exam
    - Nurse Aide for Healthcare(NURA 101)
    - Clinical for Nurse Aide—This course is taken concurrently with NURA 1001
  • RN Refresher
  • Intravenous Therapy
  • Medical Terminology
  • Reiki I, II, & III; Reflexology & Accupressure
  • Spanish for Health Care

San Antonio College is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

This activity meets criteria for mandatory continuing education requirements towards relicensure as established by the Texas Board of Nursing.
