Safety Certification

Playground Safety

Reduce the risk of playground injury! Let us train your staff on the key elements of playground safety.

Schools, day care facilities, municipal governments, and other organizations that operate playgrounds can benefit from the playground safety course offered by San Antonio College. It is targeted not only at management personnel but those who monitor children in the play area. Topics covered in the course include:

Supervision
Age–Appropriate Design
Surface Materials
Equipment Maintenance

In most cases, the course is taught on location to the playground facilities staff.

Hazardous Materials

The following topic is available:

Hazardous Materials Refresher

LET US COME TO YOU! If your organization has multiple staff members who need this course, we can send an instructor to your location and fine tune the content to your safety requirements. We understand that you might be under tight training time constraints and will do our best to accommodate special scheduling requirements.

Hazwoper Operations Level

The following topics are included in the 40–hour Hazwoper Operations Level course in addition to other topics that may be appropriate to the participants or host organization: Decontamination OSHA Regulations, Procedures for Implementing an Employer Emergency Response Plan, Spill Containment, Toxicology Labeling, and use of Personal Protective Equipment.

Participants in this course will be required to take part in a chemical spill scenario. Those who successfully complete the course will receive a certifi cate indicating that the content meets OSHA 40–hour requirements. Course will address client–specific issues.

Film Industry & Photography

Photography Courses

Do you want to improve your photography skills? Here is your opportunity to learn techniques from the professionals. Explore the use of the camera for photographing in various lighting situations; demonstrate proper use of supplemental lighting; create photographic images; manipulate camera controls for specific outcome; compose a communicative image; and present work for critical discussion.
