The Constitution of the
International Students Association
ARTICLE 1.
Name: This organization shall be known as the International Students Association of San Antonio College.
ARTICLE 2.
Objectives: The objectives of the International Students Association shall be:
Section 1: For international students at San Antonio College to establish both fraternal and cultural relationships among themselves and other international students in San Antonio.
Section 2:For international students to share their cultural heritage with other students at San Antonio College.
Section 3:To assist the students’ council and administration of San Antonio College through cultural campus activities.
ARTICLE 3.
Membership:
Section 1: Membership to the International Students Association is open to all interested international students attending San Antonio College, and must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0.
Section2: Honorary membership is also open to those who are interested in exchanging cultural ideas and shall be extended by invitation of the membership of the association.
Section 3: Active membership shall be terminated by the member.
Section 4: Full members shall have voting privileges.
ARTICLE 4.
Officers: There shall be seven officers of the International Students Association: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations Officer, Historian, and Student Council representative.
Section 1: The officers shall be elected from nominations by the club members in the last joint meeting of the scholastic year.
Section 2: The term of office shall be for one year.
Section 3: The officer may serve a second term if he is reelected by the association.
ARTICLE 5.
Honorary Members:
Section 1: Honorary members are designated by invitation of the association.
Section 2: Honorary members are non-voting members.
ARTICLE 6.
Duties of the officers:
Section 1: President

Shall preside over all meeting and activities.

Shall approve chairmen of committees.

Shall have the authority to call any special meeting that circumstances necessitate.

Shall be chairman of the executive committee and co-member of any committee.
Section 2: Vice President

Shall preside over all meetings in the absence of the President.

Shall assume duties of the President in any program at that President’s request.

Shall attend specific functions at the absence or request of the President.
Section 3: Secretary

Shall keep minutes of each meeting.

Shall carry on all correspondence for the organization.

Shall sign with the president the minutes and all official papers.

Shall keep a register of all membership, for roll call and business purposes.

Shall notify all members of the time and place of all meetings.
