NEW STUDENTS

Application checklist for new students:

Once you are accepted to San Antonio College, we will send you an acceptance letter, the form I-20 and instructions about how to pay the SEVIS fee. You will need to take these items and the receipt of the SEVIS fee to the Embassy and apply for an F-1 Visa. Receiving an I-20 does not guarantee issuance of a student visa.

If you do not receive a student visa, please let our office know by e-mail.

If you receive your student visa, you can travel to the United States only 30 days prior the first day of class stated on your I-20.

Please come to our office as soon you arrive in the United States, with your I-20, Passport, Visa, and I-94. You will need to fill out some paperwork and meet with an international counselor before registration.

TRANFER STUDENTS FROM ANOTHER COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY IN THE UNITED STATES

Transfer students must follow the same procedures as a new student with a few additional steps.

Application checklist for transfer students:

  • Completed and signed application

We cannot issue an I-20 until you have been released from your current school. You must meet with an international counselor prior to registering for classes. The new I-20 will be issued to you after the twelfth day of class.
