About Electra     When her father was murdered by Aegisthus and Clytemnestra Electra saved the life of Orestes by sending him to King Strophius of Phocis.  The seven years she spent waiting for Orestes to attain manhood and revenge his fathers death were years of sorrow and bad treatment from her mother and Aegisthus.  She sends for Orestes who comes as a messenger announcing his own death, but Electra recognizes him and helps him plot the death of their mother and their mother's lover.  Later she marries Orestes' devoted friend, Pylades.
