Red Sea at Sunset

Red Sea at sunset

The view is from the Red Sea toward Jordan. I took the photo while on a yacht in the Red Sea, leaving from Eilat, Israel. The Red Sea is surrounded by Jordan, Israel, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. The color of the beautiful mountains at sunset, as seen in this photo, is the reason the Red Sea is called red. Moses and the Israelites leaving Egypt would have passed this way. The parting of the waters was probably a Sea of Reeds (perhaps a marshy area north of the Red Sea) rather than the actual Red Sea parting.
