Welcome to the English 2311 Home Page! This is your starting point for  taking Technical Writing with Dr. Dawn Elmore-McCrary online at San Antonio College.

Instructor’s Introduction
My name is Dr. Dawn Elmore-McCrary, but most of my students just call me "Dr. Dawn." I hold the rank of Professor in the English Department at SAC, and I’ve been teaching since 1990.

Course Description
2311. Technical Writing (3-3-0)
Prerequisites: ENGL 1301 and 1302

ENGL 2311 is designed to improve the student’s ability to gather and communicate information in his/her major field.

Emphasis is on form and method. Subject matter includes business letters, technical papers, and reports.

This course is NOT a web writing class. You do not need to know HTML and will not be required to create web pages for this class.  If this is what you are expecting, you should enroll in IMED 1316, Web Page Design I, offered through our Graphic Arts Department.

Course Platform
This class is conducted through Blackboard Vista, San Antonio College's newest learning platform. You do not need to go through PALS to access the course because we are part of a pilot study. Click the Blackboard Vista link above to access the class.
