Conferences

You will be required to have a minimum of three conferences during this semester: one (at least) with me in my office and the other two could be with me or in the Writing Center. Failure to attend conferences counts as an absence/late draft (i.e. -10 points from your On-Time Draft grade). It will be up to your initiative to set up and come to these conferences. I recommend that you get one conference done before mid-term at least.

Conference preparation:

• Bring a draft of an essay you are working on to revise.
• Before the conference, re-examine your essay and think about your greatest concerns you have with this writing piece.
• Write down at least two questions you want to ask or want help with.

If I perceive that you are not prepared for a conference, I may ask you to reschedule your conference for another time.

Of course, you are welcome to come in and conference with me any time you like. You may also be required to come see me for a conference. I take these required conferences very seriously and urge you to meet with me as soon as possible.
