1stMondays@AlaMOO is a faculty development project organized by Lennie Irvin. The goal is to get writing teachers to discuss issues related to writing and technology. These discussions model the Tuesday Cafe, except this gathering is a day time event. Primarily organized to benifit the faculty at San Antonio College and the Alamo Community College Distruct, 1stMondays is open to any writing teachers who wish to attend from anywhere.

In most cases, an article is selected for discussion that is available from current journals that are available on the web. These journals include NCTE publications, Kairos, The Writing Instructor, Computers and Composition, and Currents in Electronic Literacy. The discussions of these articles occur in AlaMOO on the first Monday of each month during the regular semester dates, commonly

All discussions are hosted by Lennie Irvin, but often a special guest participant is invited to join the discussion. For those interested in attending, the Conference Guide to attending a 1stMondays session will be very helpful. No previous MOO experience is necessary to attend one of these sessions.
