Writing Ourselves: Voices in the Virtual Stream

My name is Sabrina. I have an M.A. in technical communication from New Mexico State University, and I’m English and communications faculty with Mesalands Community College in Tucumcari, New Mexico. My interests include constructivism, perception, human-computer interaction, and critical pedagogy.

Voices concerns how we create discourse through electronic media as communicators, educators, and students. Discourse is created through how communities decide to define culture. It’s a complex process where many questions and methodologies arise. Our voices as educators and students is a reductionism concerning the reality of who we are and the communities that we inhabit. The intersection of text, vision, and rhetoric generates hegemony. How the academy and other institutions shape the definition of who we are is a piece of Voices. Join us, and see how dialogue connects and creates us.
