The minimum award of $3,000.00
per academic year may vary depending on the number of awards and the student’s academic performance.
Purpose
To increase the participation of underrepresented groups in the fields of Mathematics, Engineering, and Computer Science. These scholarships are for full-time San Antonio College students who need financial assistance to complete their educational goals. Students who receive scholarships are expected to complete, in a timely manner, an Associate's Degree or a Certificate in Mathematics, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Science.
Eligibility Criteria
- Cumulative grade point average - 2.50 or above.
High school grade point average for first-time college students - 3.00 or above.
- Enrollment - 12 credit hours or more ( 9 of the 12 credit hours must be in college-level coursework ).
- In a META scholarship approved major, work toward completing an Associate's Degree, a Certificate, or a transfer to a four-year university.

- Demonstrate a financial need by filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid ( FAFSA ).
- Employment - Under 20 hours per week.
- U. S. citizenship or permanent resident status ( submit a copy of Alien Registration Card I-151 or I-551 ).
- Attend - 3 program meetings or counseling sessions per semester and 3 program enrichment activities per year.
Activities must be approved by a member of the program’s faculty.
- Mentor a San Antonio College student after the first year in the program.
Continuation Criteria
- Renew the application every semester.
Recommendation letters and a transcript are not required.
Submit an Employment Verification Letter ( if applicable ).

- Enrollment - 12 credit hours or more ( 9 of the 12 credit hours must be in college-level coursework ).
- Progress toward completing an Associate's Degree, a Certificate, or a transfer to a four-year university in a META scholarship approved major.
- Demonstrate a financial need and meet San Antonio College’s financial aid progress guidelines at a 65% course completion rate.
- Submit a META Activity Form at the end of each semester to document the required program participation in META enrichment activities and meetings.
