Fall '08 Online Enrollment Open

FYI - Dual Credit Students DO NOT qualify for financial aid!! 
You must be a high school GRADUATE to receive financial aid.

The Dual Credit Program allows a student to enroll in a community college to earn college level credit while at the same time fulfilling high school academic requirements. These courses are offered at local and area High School campuses. The college makes the final determination on all admissions to their courses. If the student does not pass a dual credit or dual participation course that is required for graduation, the student will not receive credit. Dual Credit grades count in the student’s GPA or ranking.

San Antonio College

Sophomore, Junior and Senior Level students may enroll in dual credit academic courses through San Antonio College, earning both college and high school credit concurrently. Some courses are offered on the high school campus, and some courses are offered on line.

What is Dual Credit?
The Dual Credit Program allows a student to enroll in a community college to earn college level credit while at the same time fulfilling high school academic requirements.  Dual Credit classes are offered in the Fall and Spring semesters.  Students may earn up to 27 college level hours.
What does it cost?
Tuition and fees are waived for up to two courses per semester. The dual credit courses will apply to an associate's degree at San Antonio College and may transfer to other colleges or universities. As with all transferring courses, it is up to the accepting college or university to honor dual credit course work.
Who is eligible?

1. Students who are exempt under the provisions of the Texas Successive Initiative (TSI) as listed below.

SAT
Math: 500 (minimum) (560 to take calculus)
Verbal: 500 (minimum)
Total: 1,070

ACT
Math: 19 (26 to take calculus)
Verbal: 19
Composite: 23

THEA
Math 230
Writing 220
Reading 230

2. Students not exempt under TSI must take the Accuplacer at SAC and meet the minimum requirements for a specified course.

ACCUPLACER:
Reading-78
Sentence Skills-80
Elem. Algebra-76 (EAR = 109 AND must have at least an > 86 on CLM to take Calculus)

The ACCUPLACER consists of READING, ENGLISH, MATH. There is a $15 fee (cash or check) for the ACCUPLACER. The following is the testing schedule, which is by priority seating, (first come first served), exam will be given in the Fletcher Administration Center Room 110:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
8:30 am - 3:00 pm
(anytime between these hours)

Friday 8:30 am - 1:30 pm

Santurday 8:30 am - 12 Noon
(On Saturdays only checks and money orders made out to San Antonio College will be accepted for payment since our Business office is not open on Saturdays)

What do I need to register for Dual Credit?

2.  Submit an official transcript from your high school (if home schooled, transcripts must be notorized).
