Message from the Director of San Antonio Gateway to College Welcome to the San Antonio College - Gateway to College program. You have taken the first step toward acquiring your high school diploma. San Antonio College and your local school district have joined together to promote and fund this blended high school – college program. If you meet the requirements for the program our staff encourages you to reserve and attend the next information session. During this session you will learn all about the program and can decide if this is the right option for you. San Antonio College – Gateway to College is a scholarship program that allows you to complete your high school diploma and earn college credits toward a certificate program, an associate’s degree, or complete credits toward your first two years of college in preparation for the continuation at a four year institution. The Gateway to College Scholarship will provide you with tuition, books, and a city bus pass. This means you will pay NOTHING toward your next two years of education. In addition you will be assigned a Resource Specialist, who will guide, advise, encourage, and celebrate your successes. Your responsibility will be to attend class and do the best you can each and every day. Chances like this do not occur every day. Yes the work will be tough, after all you are in college, but the benefits will be many. You will not only have a highschool diploma but also college credits toward a career choice and all of the choices will be made by you. If you want to regain control of your life, and provide a better opportunity for you and your family then make the call for a REAL SECOND CHANCE!
