Information
Carol Keller
is a native Texan. One of her primary teaching interests is bringing
new information
technology to the classroom and promoting student network literacy through
access to the Internet and other online services. Carol teaches HIST 1301
History of the United States Part 1, on-campus and online, and HIST 1302
History of the United States Part 2 online, as well as HIST 2321/ IDST
2372 World Civilization to the Fifteenth Century (on-campus and online) and HIST2322/ IDST2373
World Civilization since 1500, on-campus.
Keller's area of
specialty is Victorian England (specifically
Harriet
Martineau and James
Martineau), and her dissertation is Pundit and Pulpit: Teaching
the Victorians -- Harriet and James Martineau (available at the
University of Michigan, ProQuest).
She also specializes in nineteenth-century American History and World History
to 1500. Professor Keller enjoys an active membership in the American
Historical Association, the World
History Association, the World
History Association of Texas, the Community
College Humanities Association, and the
Texas
Community College Teachers Association.
