REQUIRED TEXTBOOK FOR HIST 1302.090 AND HIST 1302.091
There are actually several choices. It requires a long explanation but the choice is yours.
Carnes and Garraty, The American Nation, volume 2 (brand new, used or a la carte), 13th edition
Although
the online access code is no longer required, some students used it during
the summer sessions and found it very useful even with the fast-paced setting.
Option #1: fantastic buy!
The cheapest option is the a la carte version (three-hole punch version must be ordered directly from the publisher and is non-returnable) that comes with free access code to My History Lab (MHL). MHL is the most complete study guide that I have come across in all of my years of teaching at SAC. It has powerpoint presentations for the visual learner, flash cards and several sets of multiple choice questions for the more traditional learner, auditory definitions, images, etc.
Purchase
at: http://www.mypearsonstore.com/bookstore/product.asp?isbn=0205785972
Not only does it come with free access code but it is shipped free!
Option
#2: still saving some money but you will have to purchase online access code
at steep cost if you decide later you can't pass without MHL!
You can buy a used version of Carnes and Garraty, The American Nation, volume
2, and try a briefer review site that is arranged by topics. Check
it out and see whether it will meet your needs:
http://wps.ablongman.com/long_longman_lahss_0/
The site
contain U.S. history topics with Multiple Choice (48 multiple choice questions!!!!),
TF, Fill in the blank and web destinations. It is not arranged by chapters.
Option #3: way too expensive!
You can purchase a brand new textbook and get the online access code free of charge but you will pay handsomely for this option. The new textbook can be resold to the bookstore.
The choice is yours.
