Curriculum (starting Fall of 2000)

The San Antonio College Honors Curriculum consists of a combination of honors courses, honors contract courses, and regular courses to total 66 hours toward an associate degree from San Antonio College. Of the course work, 28-36 hours are honors courses, 3-4 hours are honors contract courses, and 26-35 hours are regular courses.

The honors classes include:

• English 1301 and 1302
  (for those with previous credit a Writing Intensive course will be substituted)
  
• History 2311, 2312 and 1302
  (Western Civilization, and American History, Second Half)
  
• Government 2302
  
• Philosophy 1301
  
• Speech 1311
  
• English 2328
  (American Literature, Second Half)

Other requirements include:

• 8 hours of a natural science requiring laboratory work
  (regular, honors or honors contract courses)
  
• 3 hours of mathematics at the level of 1314 or higher
  (regular or honors contract courses)
  
• 3 additional hours of mathematics at the 1316 level or higher,
  or science, computer science, or logic
  (regular or honors contract courses)
  

Also recommended are 12 hours of college-level foreign language
(regular or honors contract courses)
