What is WebCT?
WebCT is a course management software that is password protected. If you are not officially registered at San Antonio College and enrolled in the course, you will be unable to log in and enter WebCT. In fact, it will not even be visible to you. Once you have registered for the Internet Research course you will be able to see and select the WebCT link to the course.
Accessing WebCTYou must first login through PALs to even see "My Courses" and then find the icon/link to the WebCT courses that you will be taking.You will login to WebCT using the same accd login and accd password, you will see a menu like the figure below.

Note the "READ ME FIRST icon.
Click that icon, a document will open. Read that document and do the assignments as instructed. The instructions include clicking on "About Me" and completing a questionnaire. Once you complete the questionnaire, return to the above homepage and click on "Communication Tools." You will see icons that represent email, chat and discussions.Select "Discussion" and once you enter the discussion menu find and click on the discusion topic that is called "About Me." Write your message as instructed. Read the message from me also. Until you complete the assignment steps described in "READ ME FIRST" you will be unable to access anything else in WebCT. Once you have completed all the tasks assigned I will "release" the rest of the course to you. Don't be alarmed if the release is not immediate. I will check the course frequently during the day and night but anticipate some delay before the course has been opened for you.I will continue to instruct you about the features of WebCT as needed. There is a Student Walkthrough manual on WebCT if you are not experienced with using this program.
