Teaching Current WebCT Course
Preparing for copying to a Blackboard Vista shell.

Step 1. You must create a back up of your current course.

  • Open the Current WebCt course and click on Designer Options/Control Panel

Step 2. Click on Manage Course
Step 3. Click on Back Up Course/Create backup
Step 4. Click on radio button and press delete
Step 5. Click on Create Backup
Step 6. Click continue
Step 7. You will see a back up copy. Click on radio button and then click on Download.
Step 8. Download and save Save the downloaded copy where you can find it. I suggest a folder with course name and number.
Step 9. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A WebCt development shell with your course name, number, you must submit an erequest to get one. Ask district to create a blank WebCt shell for you, Course Name______ Course Number_______

Step 10. If you already have a WebCT shell with that course name number just upload the backup and overwrite the older course version

Or...Upload your backup to the WebCT shell that district will place on the WebCT Dev. server

When you upload the course be sure to click on Resert course.

 

Final Step. Go online and add this information to the online Course Creation/Migration Form. Add your course name and click on the radio button under the column "Development Server."
