AccuNet/AP Multimedia Archive [AccuNet/AP] Searchable archive of historical and contemporary Associated Press photographs from the nineteenth century to the present. Brief stories available for most contemporary photos 48 hours after publication. Also included are maps, charts, logos and other graphics produced for the AP. Architectural Publications Index (API), 1980 - present. (Royal Institute of British Architects) International coverage; updated daily, a free index produced by the RIBA library. Avery Index to Architectural Publications [Ebsco] A comprehensive guide to the literature of architecture and design surveying more than 2500 journals covering the U.S., Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Australia. Encyclopedia of Popular Music [Oxford UP] Fourth edition. Features a broad musical scope covering popular music of all genres and periods from 1900 to the present day, including jazz, country, folk, rap, reggae, techno, musicals, and world music. Thousands of additional entries cover popular music genres, trends, styles, record labels, venues, and music festivals. Key dates, biographies, and further reading are provided for artists covered, along with complete discographies that include record labels, release dates, and a 5-star album rating system. Grove Art Online [Oxford UP] Provides access to more than 45,000 reference book articles on the fine arts (painting, sculpture, and architecture) and the decorative arts (ceramics, textiles, jewellery, interior design, etc.) and biographies. Grove Music Online [Oxford UP] Provides access to the full text of The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, The New Grove Dictionary of Opera, and The New Grove Dictionary of Jazz with links to sound archives and illustrations. Naxos Music Library [Naxos] Audio library; includes over 8800 titles (over 130,000 tracks) by nearly 7,000 composers plus notes on composers, selections in the library, fundamental music terms, pronunciation guide, operatic librettos and more. Musical genres include: classical, world/folk, contemporary, New Age, Chinese and jazz. Musical categories include: ballet, chamber music, choral, composers, concertos, educational, film music, instrumental, musicals, opera/operatta, orchestral, vocal and collections. NYPL Digital Gallery [New York Public Library] Images of over 275,000 maps, architectural plans, drawing, photographs, etc. from image collections of the New York Public Library. May be used free of charge for scholarship, research and teaching. Commercial or for profit use is prohibited without prior permission of NYPL.
