Bowker's Books in Print [R.R. Bowker Co.] Find title, author, ISBN number ( a unique number for the book) and publisher information for over 3.4 million books, along with 600,000 full text reviews of many of these books. Give the information to a librarian for easy ordering for their collection or through interlibrary loan. One can also search by "Children's Room" to find age and reading level specific books, cassettes and videos; or search "In the Media," which allows one to browse titles mentioned on such popular media as Oprah Book Club, Today Show, and National Public Radio. Congressional Research Service Reports Free search service for all Congressional Research Service reports that have been posted on the web. The CRS is the public policy research arm of the U.S. Congress and is known for non-partisan, in-depth analysis of public policy issues. CRS does not publish its reports, but many of them have been made available by government agencies and members of Congress. [Free access to everyone]

CQ Almanac[Congressional Quarterly, Inc.] The online edition of CQ Almanac brings together over sixty years (1945 to the last session of Congress) of authoritative, unbiased congressional reporting in one, easy-to-use resource. HeritageQuest Online [ProQuest] Includes local histories, published genealogies, and primary source materials for towns, counties, and families of all 50 states beginning with the 13 original colonies, Canada, England, and Ireland. Information and Referral Service [United Way of San Antonio] Searchable database of social service agencies and programs located in the San Antonio, Bexar county and eleven surrounding counties. JSTOR [JSTOR] A searchable, printable, electronic backfile of important scholarly journals delivering in high quality images of journal articles in PDF format. Coverage usually stops from 2 to 5 years prior to the current year depending on the "moving wall" agreed to by each journal's publisher. NYPL Digital Gallery [New York Public Library] Images of over 275,000 maps, architectural plans, drawing, photographs, etc. from image collections of the New York Public Library. Oxford Dictionary of National Biography [Oxford UP]The standard biographical reference for individuals connected to Great Britian and the British empire. The over 50,000 biographees (10,000 with portraits) included are either historically significant persons or individuals noteworthy for their achievments. Coverage includes individuals from the earliest times through those who died in 2001. Each January the publisher will "extend the dictionary's coverage to the next year in the twenty-first century." Also included are articles on topics relevant to the dictionary and reference lists of colonial or territorial governors and heads of state. Oxford Language Dictionaries Online [Oxford UP] Unabridged bilingual (English) dictionaries for: French, German, Spanish and Italian. Database includes millions of words, phrases, translations, usage examples and illustrative phrases, grammar guidance, click-through verb tables and pronunciation charts, explanations of grammatical terms, and help with spelling and punctuation. Also included are hundreds of correspondence templates (e.g. sample letters, CVs and resumes) to provide practical help with writing in each language. Safari Tech Books Online [ProQuest] Search across a broad range of online text of books (ebooks) published between 2002 and present (2005) in computer science and information technology (some business titles are included) or browse by subject area. Search the collection for a specific book by author, title, ISBN or publisher. Includes titles from major publishers such as: O'Reilly, Peachpit Press, Microsoft Press, Sun, New Riders, Cisco Press and others. Sanborn's Digital Texas Maps [Chadwyck-Healey] These digitized maps provide detailed property and land-use records that depicts the architecture of more than 12,000 U.S. towns and cities throughout the past one hundred years. The maps enable researchers to trace the architectural history of individual buildings or entire communities. One can see everything from building outline, size and shape, construction materials, height, building use, windows and doors, street and sidewalk widths, boundaries, house numbers, and more. Symbols for stables, garages, warehouses, and other commercial sites are also included. Factories are often labeled with the owner's name, as well as the products manufactured there. Also depicted are pipelines, railroads, wells, water mains, and dumps. Search for the maps by typing in the state or community. Each map's index helps locate streets, landmarks, and other places of historical interest. Once displayed, the maps can be manipulated, expanded, printed, and downloaded. World Almanac [OCLC] Find facts, statistics, biographies, encyclopedia entries, cultural information, holidays, astronomical information and much more. Subjects include American life, arts and entertainment, sports, the environment, national defense, and vital statistics. Over 6,000 articles culled from the following almanacs: World Almanac of the U.S.A., World Almanac of U.S. Politics, World Almanac for Kids, and World Almanac Knowledge Source. Dropped from TexShare's core databases as of July 1, 2005; no longer available. However, The World Almanac is included in Facts.com.

World Cat [OCLC] The world's largest database of bibliographic information, the OCLC online union catalog, culled from the shared records of libraries from all over the world. Over 43 million records, in over 400 languages, that contain holdings information, and other information vital to collection development, cataloging, authority control, and retrospective conversion services.
