• Cyndi's List Over 164,000 catagorized and cross-referenced links to sites with family history and genealogy information; the Yahoo! of Genealogy on the Internet.
• Ancestry.com A fee-based, commercial site. Includes many free databases such as the Social Security Death Index. Search Ancestry.com's database to locate sources of information. Some fee-based databases (online and on CD-ROM) may be available for use at an LDS Family History Center or a nearby public library.
• Family Search Free databases from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Includes genealogies, an index to articles in genealogical journals, information on the LDS's Family History Library and online catalog, and on the Church's Family History Centers.
• Genealogy.com A fee-based, commercial site. Includes many free databases such as the Social Security Death Index. Search Ancestry.com's database to locate sources of information. Some fee-based databases (online and on CD-ROM) may be available for use at an LDS Family History Center or a nearby public library.
• In the First Person is free to AMIGOS members; a searchable database of personal narratives, oral histories, letters, and diaries of over 300,000 individuals. Indexes materials available in historical archives and special collections; provides full text online for some of the items indexed.
• RootsWeb.com RootsWeb is a free clearinghouse for genealogical information on the Internet including items such as locality and surname mailing lists, volunteers willing to do lookups in their local library or cemetery, and other volunteer projects within the Internet genealogical community.
