The Library is located on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors of the Moody Learning Center, the tallest building on campus.
The 2nd floor houses the Reference Desk, Reference Collection, and computers with Internet access to do research in the Library's online databases and eBooks and on the World Wide Web.
On the 3rd floor, you'll find the Circulating Collection (books and other items such as DVDs you may check out and take with you), the Circulation Desk, and the Reserve Desk, where books placed on Reserve by professors.
The 4th floor includes the Periodicals Department, Federal Documents Collection, and Special Collections.

The Reserve Desk is located on the 3rd floor of the Moody Learning Center. This is where library books and copies of professors personal books, notes, old exams, etc. that have been placed "on reserve" are kept.
The Library provides access to the World Wide Web for research purposes. Games, Chatlines, and personal email are prohibited. Bring a formatted, 3.5 inch diskette or a pen drive with you if you wish to copy any documents you find on the World Wide Web.
Library computers are for research only. Computers for email are available in Bailey's CyberCafe in the Loftin Student Center and the Student Learning Assistance Center (SLAC) located on the 7th floor of the Moody Learning Center, room 726.
Your SAC photo ID is your library card. You must present your validated SAC ID in order to check out books, use federal documents, periodicals, and other library materials as well as other facilties on campus such as the Student Learning Assistance Center (SLAC).
To obtain a new ID take your bursar's paid receipt and your driver's license or other photo ID to the ID Card Center in room 260B of the Loftin Student Center.
A maximum of 7 circulating books, that is those located in the stacks on the 3rd floor, may be checked out for 14 days. You may renew an item for an additional 14 days unless another person has placed a "hold" on the item. The period for items "on reserve" varies from 2 hours in-library use to 3-days.

Yes, you can access the library's catalog from your home or office. You must have Internet access and World Wide Web browser software on your computer. The most common browsers are Netscape Navigator and MS Internet Explorer. The URL for the online catalog is:
The Library has a limited number of laptop computers available for check out at the 3rd floor Circulation Desk. The laptops include wireless Internet access and the MS Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) installed. Please bring a 3.5 inch diskette with you to save your work. You must have your SAC student ID to use a laptop computer. The laptops must be used on the 3rd floor of the Library. The main computer lab is the Student Learning Assistance Center (SLAC) on the 7th floor of the Moody Learning Center (MLC) room 726. The computers in SLAC have MS Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) installed. SLAC also carries the courseware that comes with textbooks. You must present your validated SAC photo ID card in order to use the computers and software in the SLAC. Other word processing resources on campus include the Internet Skills Center, in room 400B of MLC. Students needing word processing for an English class may also use the English dept. lab.
There are public, coin-operated photocopiers are located on all 3 floors of the library. On the 2nd floor they are in the Copier Room in the Library's Reference Arear. On the 3rd floor the photocopiers are located just outside the Reserve Room. On the 4th floor the copiers are located in the Periodicals Dept.
The photocopiers all take $1.00 bills. You must make at least one photocopy then press the coin return button to receive your change.
The library participates in the U.S. Government Printing Office's Depository program as a selective depository for federal documents. Whatever the format, paper or electronic, all depository documents are listed in SAC's Online Catalog. Documents shelved throughout the library may be used in-house by any patron. Documents housed on the fourth floor usually require a school ID or driver's license, but special arrangements may be made to use documents if no identification is readily available. Documents published in electronic format are available in a variety of ways; for example, if the document is web-based, it may be accessed from computer workstations within the library or at home.
Special Collections include items located in the Bookcase, McAllister, and ADAR collections. These are items which are not checked out for use at home, but must be used on the 4th floor.
Special Collections are located on the 4th floor of the Moody Learning Center in the Periodicals Dept. Unlike the "Stacks" on the 3rd floor, these are not browsing collections. You must request Special Collection items by completing an orange "Special Collections Request" form and presenting it with your validated SAC ID card at the Periodicals Service Desk.
