Congressional Research Service Reports Free search service for all Congressional Research Service reports that have been posted on the web. The CRS is the public policy research arm of the U.S. Congress and is known for non-partisan, in-depth analysis of public policy issues. CRS does not publish its reports, but many of them have been made available by government agencies and members of Congress. [Free access to everyone]

CQ Almanac[Congressional Quarterly, Inc.] The online edition of CQ Almanac brings together over sixty years (1945 to the last session of Congress) of authoritative, unbiased congressional reporting in one, easy-to-use resource. The Almanac includes the people, elections, legislation, and controversies in the U.S. Congress; in-depth review and analysis of legislation and policy for each year, organized by policy area; and comprehensive roll call votes for all major legislation. Special features: Browse by subject, decade, or by a particular year's table of contents. CQ Researcher [Congressional Quarterly, Inc.] Covers the most current and controversial issues of the day with complete summaries, insight into all sides of the issues, bibliographies and more. CQ Weekly [Congressional Quarterly, Inc.] Nonpartisan news and analysis of legislative issues in plain English covering virtually every act of the U.S. Congress including floor votes from 1983 to the present day. Europa World Plus [Routledge; Taylor & Francis Group] Includes the Europa World Yearbook and the Europa Regional Surveys of the World. Facts.com [Facts on File News Services] Databases included are: the World News Digest from 1940 to present, the World Almanac, the World Almanac Encyclopedia, Issues and Controversies, and Today's Science. HAPI Online [UCLA] Online version of the Hispanic American Periodical Index. Indexes over information on Latin America from over 400 international journals in the social sciences and humanities. Covers from 1970 to present day. [SAC plus off campus access]

Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center [GaleGroup] Covers controversial topics. Includes background information and pro and con essays published in the following series: Opposing Viewpoints, Information Plus, At Issue, Contemporary Issues Companion, Current Controversies, Opposing Viewpoints Digests, and Teen Decisions. Resources may also include: text from a limited selection of reference books, magazine and newspaper articles, statistics, images, primary documents, and web sites on the topics. Study tools and guidelines include tips on judging information; using the essays; citing resources; and organizing, writing, developing and presenting reports and oral presentations. eHRAF World Cultures [eHRAF] (formerly, eHRAF Collection of Ethnography) A cross-cultural database containing descriptive information on cultures and ethnic groups of the world. [SAC plus off campus access] [Full-text database]

Oxford Islamic Studies Online [Oxford UP] Scholarly, integrated resource features reference content and commentary in areas such as global Islamic history, concepts, people, practices, politics, and culture. Includes over 3,000 A-Z reference entries, chapters from scholarly and introductory works, Qur'anic materials, primary sources, images, and timelines. PsycARTICLES [Ovid] Full text articles from over 50 premier journals published by the APA and allied orgainzations. Includes over 25,000 articles in the fields of psychology and psychiatry published from 1988 to the present. [SAC plus off campus access] [Full-text database]

Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection [EBSCO] This database provides nearly 575 full text publications, including nearly 550 peer-reviewed titles. Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection covers topics such as emotional and behavioral characteristics, psychiatry & psychology, mental processes, anthropology, and observational and experimental methods. Nearly every full text title included in this database is indexed in PsycINFO. This database is updated daily via EBSCOhost. [SAC plus off campus access] [Full-text database][TexShare database]

Sociological Collection [EBSCO] Covers aspects of sociology, including human behavior, human tendencies, community development, relationships, and much more. Features more than 400 peer-reviewed journals and many PDF images. Dropped from TexShare's core databases as of July 1, 2005; this subset interface is no longer available, however there is complete coverage of this content in Academic Search Complete.
