Merging Outcomes, or How to Make Students Love the Library
Even though information is “right at our fingertips” the library and its vast amount of online resources can bewilder even the most eager student. One librarian uses the interactive features of Elluminate to merge the learning outcomes desired by online instructors with the basic research skills that students need to know to survive.

6. A little bit about me!

Education:

Master of Science, Library and Information Science, University of North Texas, 1996.
Bachelor of Music, Music History and Literature, Baylor University, 1994. Instrument: violin

Celita DeArmond, Miss Information 2007

What I do:

As you can tell from the items listed above, I keep pretty busy here at SAC! I joined the library faculty in the Fall of 2002 as the Distance Learning Librarian. It is my mission to promote and help support library resources and services to distance education faculty and students.

I also enjoy working with my colleagues at the Reference Desk and teaching Library Instruction, as well as building the library's collection in Architecture, Visual Art, Music, Theatre, Speech, Communication, and Radio Television Film. I currently serve on the Library Instruction committee, the Women's History Week committee, the SAC Online committee, the Web Content Management System team, and in Spring 2009 was elected to the SAC Faculty Senate. I am a member of the Texas Library Association and this year am a member of the Program Committee which is planning the TLA 2010 Conference which will be held here in San Antonio, TX.

In my spare time, I perform with the Symphony of the Hills in Kerrville, TX.
