What is TILT?

The Texas Information Literacy Tutorial is a free state-wide shared resource to help you increase your knowledge, skills and comfort level in locating, evaluating and using information for academic research.

After you register and complete the short introductory module, you can choose from the following 3 modules:
 

Module 1: Selecting - how to choose sources that are appropriate for academic research Module 2: Searching - how to effectively search library databases and the Web Module 3: Evaluating - how to locate and evaluate print and online sources

Each module is approximately 30 minutes in length. At the end of each of these modules, there is a 9 question online quiz which you can answer and then print out or email to your instructor @ ________________________
 

Steps for using TILT

1. Go to the TILT address on the web: http://tilt.lib.utsystem.edu

2. Click on Full TILT (total interactivity) or TILT lite (no plug-ins required).

3. Click on First Time Visitors to register and complete the introductory TILT module.

4. Select from TILT Modules 1, 2, or 3.

5. Take the Quiz at the end of your selected TILT module.

• Please type a short commentary (3-5 sentences) for the last Quiz question of each module.
• You can retake the Quiz as many times as you need in order to score 100%.
• You can print your Quiz Summary. (Does not include your Quiz comments.)
• You can email your Quiz Summary to one address or multiple addresses. (Includes your Quiz comments.) Place a comma between multiple email addresses like this:

6. Click on TILT to select another TILT Module, or click on EXIT to end your TILT session.
