 | Three major exams on dates indicated by assignment sheet. You may take a makeup on NO MORE THAN ONE of the three major exams. The makeup is given with the final examination and may be for any reason, including missed exam or desire to improve average. If you miss an exam, your grade on that exam is ZERO! To be eligible for a makeup you must submit a corrected copy of the original exam at the time of the makeup. |

| Homework is recorded for the day it is turned in. Half of your homework grade is attendance. If you do not turn in at least a sheet of paper with your name on it, you will be counted absent. Pop tests are sometimes included as part of the homework. Do not turn in late homework, expecting it to make up for days your are absent. There is no makeup for a missed daily grade. The college catalog provides that a student may be dropped for excessive absences. Please note that this is completely at the instructor's discretion. While it is possible that you might be dropped for excessive absences, DO NOT RELY ON THIS AS A MEANS OF WITHDRAWING FROM CLASS. For a variety of reasons, you might not to be dropped for excessive absences, in which case YOU WILL RECEIVE A GRADE OF F FOR THE SEMESTER. Students sometimes come back years later trying to get an F changed to a W because they simply stopped attending class. Many do not realize that colleges and universities count these F's during admission. Take responsibility for yourself where grades and drops are concerned. |
| If you are enrolled in a mathematics class (particularly Math 0300, 0301, 0302 or 0303) , there is a free tutoring lab and video lab on the First floor of McCreless Hall. |
The following indicate the weights each area of the course counts toward your average:
| Final : 30%; |
| 3 Major exams : 20% each (60% total). |
| Daily grade: 10%. |
| 89.5 or higher : A; |
| 79.5-89.4 : B; |
| 69.5-79.4: C; |
| 59.5-69.4: D; |
| 0-59.4: F. |
